Hey look! That's me! Over there to the left! Hey guys, my name is Katie Schnurr and this is my blog! This is my first ever blog post of, well, ever. I hope it's actually interesting and not too rambly. So! A little bit about me, I have a brother who is a senior in high school at the moment (he graduates in June!), I have a Yorkie named Cooper and then I've got my mom and dad. I don't really know how I would describe myself, kind of quiet, quirky, and nerdy. I'm a math major so it's kind of a requirement. I love to read and write, a good movie and/or a good TV show.

I will be studying, also named Alicante,
is the underlined city on the smaller map
also to the right. If you Google it a lot of really nice pictures with beaches and things like that come up. And I am going to be living there for an entire semester. I can hardly believe that it's happening!
I am studying abroad in Spain because I'm a Spanish major in addition to being a math major. I want to be a Spanish teacher after I graduate so I'm going to Spain to make sure that I actually know what I'm doing once I get my own classroom. It's going to be an excellent experience for me to practice my Spanish and for me to become fluent. This is an invaluable expreience for me and I am so grateful that I will be able to go to Spain in the fall. It's something that I've wanted for a very long time. I can't even imagine what it will be like, I just want to go there and experience if for myself--that is good enough to me. It's going to be difficult at first, Spanish is not my first language and even though I'm pretty sure I know what I'm doing, I've never been in a country that's primary language is not English. It's going to be an interesting couple of first weeks for sure and I'm not expecting it to be easy, but I know it will be worth it.
Well, I think that's enough rambling for now. I hope this didn't bore you to tears. I also hope that you stick around to hear about my wonderous adventures in Spain as I learn about the language, the culture and myself all in one semester! I'm bound to have a lot of stories to tell and I'd love to share them with you! TTFN--ta ta for now!
